On Thursday we got up really early and headed down to the
Jamestown Settlement. We were really glad we got out early as the day was very very humid and hot. By about 12:00 we were sweltering and dying to get out of the heat.

We shared a cold drink down by the reproduction boats. These boats were copies of the ones that brought over the original Virginia Bay Company settlers. It was amazing to see how small the ships were and how little room they would have had even without a load of cargo.

We shopped up the gift shop next and headed back into town to check out of our hotel.

We grabbed a bite at
Cracker Barrel. A little brunch before heading over to some neat looking shops in Williamsburg. We went to the Yankee Candle Flag ship store. It was amazing. Several stores within a store- like a mall. We made molds of our hands - will photograph and post later - a very neat thing... and then picked out a dozen scents that we liked and got votive sized candles in them to try all year long. Haley and I even got darling little lip glosses that looked like they were miniature glass yankee candles.

After a few other shopping stops, we bopped onto I64 and traveled 2 hours or so up to Charlottesville. Our plan, to spend the night there and visit Monticello on Friday. We made good time and all went well. Stayed at a nice Courtyard Inn and had a great dinner at a place called the Mello Mushroom. (pizza) Haley stayed in the room and caught up with her favorite Disney shows and rested.
