Here's Nolan - about the only recent picture I have of him lately, posing with Jarrett and Carrie at their baby shower. I am amazed at how much Nolan looks like my brothers! Nolan is doing well working and going to community college. He is very busy and learning to juggle time and sleep and homework issues on his own. The new freedoms that come with college are enticing and new to navigate for all of us! But he is keeping his head on his shoulders and managing everything pretty well.

Haley was installed this morning as a security patrol guard at her school. She is on duty on Thursday mornings and afternoons guarding the children accross the cross walks safely on to school. This really appeals to her little rule follower heart. (rule enforcer heart too!) My brother in law recently said of his daughter, "she has a finely honed sense of indignation." This quite often applies to her younger cousin, Haley, as well! Unfortunately, she probably gets that from her mommy!

Haley led the morning opening at school last Friday. Welcoming the students and leading the flag salute and school song and patriotic song. She is enjoying school a ton this year and likes her teacher. She has gotten herself very organized - she's flying Cathi! She gets her piano practice done, room clean, and even 15 minutes for Bible reading (she's working through the New Testament) before she leaves for school. She has a timer and post it notes around on her bathroom mirror and in her bedroom to remind her of her morning, afternoon and evening routines. The benefit for Mom - no missing homework, her bed is made daily for the first time ever and she seems to be handling her busy schedule much better. Oh, and it hasn't hurt that the TV does not get turned on until after dinner - and only if everything else is done.
Frank and I are both doing very well. Frank is not traveling at all this month so we are able to catch up on a few jobs around the house that need doing. We are working on a memorial cookbook for his mother and are enjoying testing some of her recipes. Although, the delicious zuchinni bread he made the other night wieghed in at 12 WW points per slice. I only thought to calculate it after I had had three slices! YIKES.
More later this week. I promise.

I LOVE that Haley is flying. You must be a much better example than me : )
You look great, Heather. Are you doing Weight Watchers? It looks like you've had a successful summer in the "getting fit" area.
Please give a hug to all your people.
