Yesterday we had what my favorite book, "Anne of Green Gables", would call a banner day! The kids were invited to participate with several other kids from our church at the Northern Cal District Council. (Assemblies of God area meeting) It was WM day (Women's Ministries).
We ran into several people that knew my folks, people from Bethel in San Jose that were at Nolan's baby shower and many friends from Bethel in Modesto.
The kids were involved with an adult worship team from our church, the younger ones in costumes from around the world and Nolan and his crew doing a "Stomp" like routine with buckets and drum sticks. They performed as missionaries from around the world entered, some in costumes from the lands they serve in. It was something that my children have never had the chance to behold and it was wonderful!
We all rode up on the bus together so we all were able to get to know new friends better.
I went wearing a ring for each Mom and Nana. They would have been there with bells on to see their grandchildren get to perform at District Council. Something they had both been a part of annually for years. I think God must let saints peak over the edge of Heaven to witness a day like that! Somehow Nana and Mom and Jake and Alice and Mo and Faith seemed to be a part of 'the great cloud of witnesses' yesterday.
