Last night, we were very privilaged to go to the Vienna State Opera house and see Swan Lake. I have wonderful pictures from inside, but still am not able to upload photos. I lifted this one from flicker as I was unable to take a good picture with my camera last night. I hope I will be able to upload some of ours tomorrow when we are in Mainz - Frankfurt. At the ballet, we had two seats in one box and one in another, so Frank and I got to take turns. They weren't the best seats for viewing, but extra fun and beautiful. Haley's box was just above the stage. Great for viewing the curtain calls and espcially the conducter. If we stood and leaned in - which was allowed in these seats, you could see most of the performance. What fun!!
We leave in just an hour for our flight to Frankfurt.
We've had a beautiful time here in Vienna. Our hotel has been great and very convenient and it really helps to know we paid for it with points!! They allowed us to upgrade to use the club. And that has been our dinner and breakfast and petite snacks of all sorts and pops whenever you want - with ice!! We feel very spoiled. Last night we discovered that the club level allows you to also use the in room mini bar for free. We raided all the snacks after the ballet and laid in bed drinking fanta orange from wine glasses and noshing on peanuts and mozart chocolates. Wow!
Frank and Haley have gone on to see the crown jewels in the ring strasse area. I decided to hang back and lay low in the club. I have lightened my load considerably of all my unnecessary books, etc and am ready and refreshed to carry on.
Haley met a lovely girl Mickalia from N.J. via Ireland and they have been having fun swims together and eating snacks. It has been good for her to have a friend for a while. Because she hasn't had her sib to diffuse her, she is sometimes a little bored with us.
More later. Someone needs to use the internet.
